Barracuda

The Plymouth Barracuda, launched on April 1, 1964, is considered the first "pony car," arriving two weeks before the Ford Mustang. Based on the Plymouth Valiant A-body platform, the initial, fastback-styled generation featured a distinctive, massive wraparound rear window. While designed as a sporty compact, the Barracuda evolved into a powerhouse, with the second generation (1967–1969) introducing more aggressive styling and bigger engine options.
